This holiday season, family is very important. If you would like to gather with family this is possible at your own risk by following safety guidelines. You should do whatever it takes to stay safe. When everyone is taking care of their health, everyone is safe!
Quarantine vs Isolation
There is a difference between quarantine and isolation.
Isolation is when you have tested positive for the virus and have to isolate for 10-14 days or until symptoms have subside. This means you cannot be in contact with anyone even those you live with.
You quarantine if you believe you have been exposed to the virus for 14 days. This means you are still around others in your home.
How To Stay Safe All Year Around
If you plan to be with friends and family, quarantine for 14 days prior to gathering. This includes those you live with or minimize exposure to them. This will confirm that you are not exposing yourself to possibly catching the virus and spreading it to your friends and family.
Don't fly if driving is an option. Driving is a lot safer because you don’t have to be around others to get to your friends and family.
Shower frequently when entering and leaving your home to reduce germs staying on your body.
Wash your clothes when entering your home.
Disinfectant your shoes always in addition to leaving them at the door.
Build immune health while you quarantine (Tea ingredients provided below).
Building Immune Health
Building immune health is the most effective way to remain virus free in addition to washing your hands and disinfecting. Make sure you are taking care of your inner health all the time.
When you are with family and friends make a large pot of tea for everyone to drink as they arrive!
Here are the ingredients to making your own “Carona Tea”:
4 Cups of water
3 Ginger roots
3 Limes cut in two then squeezed and tossed in boiling water
Cloves (as many as you want)
An onion sliced in circles
Five garlic cloves
1 spoon of turmeric powder
Thyme (as much as you want)
Dash of cayenne pepper
Once boiled for 30 minutes add honey to each cup prepared.
Honey for taste once ready
Others alternatives:
Oranges instead of Limes
Celery instead of onions
Disinfect Often
Disinfectant spray and wipes are a big deal. Use them often while you’re together to disinfectant the air and surfaces constantly. See all my previous blogs on how to stock up on all of your disinfectants.
Tea Bags High in Antioxidants
A concoction is most needed if you’ve been exposed to others. What I like to do is a quick fix that I can drink daily by adding honey, turmeric powder, and lime juice with any of the following:
Green Tea
Ginger Tea
Black Tea
Jasmine Tea
Steaming
Steaming consist of leaning over the tea you are boiling with a towel and inhaling the fumes from both your mouth and nose. You do this as long as you feel comfortable to. This promotes clear nasal and throat airways killing all unwanted bacteria and virus
Stay safe!
